The idea for starting a home watch business has been years in the making. Owner, Ana Cantell started watching over her parents’ house while they vacationed in Mexico each Winter. A few winters back during a deep freeze, the furnace stopped working, leading to a burst pipe. Luckily it was caught before it was a disaster, but she started wondering, “What did other snowbirds do with their unoccupied homes all winter?”.

After doing some research into the home watch industry, she realized this service was common down South but nothing was being done with the primary residence in Minnesota. After much research into the industry, Snowbird Home Watch was born. The business name was inspired by Ana’s grandparent’s boat called Snowbird. They, too, spent the winter in Mexico, and Ana spent memorable days on vacation fishing on the Snow Bird.

Prior to starting Snowbird Home Watch, Ana was in the footwear industry, running their family wholesale business.  Ana grew up in North Oaks, Minnesota and returned here once starting a family of her own.

Snowbird Home Watch is insured, bonded, and background-checked. We are an accredidated member of the National Home Watch Association. All employees have graduated from the Home Watch Academy and have the Certified Home Watch Reporter designation. Snowbird Home Watch is also a proud member of the White Bear Lake Chamber of Commerce.
